Card processing is shown as Stripe’s standard 2.9% plus 30 cents per order and is the same in every row. Lab costs, subscription fees, and shipping are not included. Rates were checked on 19 September 2026. If a vendor has changed a rate, the source link on that row shows the current number.
How to read the table.
Commission is the only column that changes between platforms. Processing is a card network cost that every seller pays. So the useful comparison is the commission column times twelve, which is the yearly figure in the fourth column.
The markup slider matters for Pic-Time and SmugMug. Both charge on the profit above lab cost rather than on the whole sale. If most of what you sell is digital downloads, set the markup share to 100 and their rows rise. If you sell mostly framed prints with a thin margin, their rows fall.
Commission is one part of the cost. Plan price is the other. The platform comparisons put both side by side, and the pricing calculator helps set the prices that these sales come from.
