Uploading Photos and Videos


Learn how to upload your media files to PixelPort galleries quickly and efficiently.


Supported File Types


Photos

  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">JPEG/JPG</strong>: Most common format
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">PNG</strong>: For images with transparency
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">HEIC</strong>: iPhone native format (auto-converted)
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">WebP</strong>: Modern web format

  • Videos

  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">MP4</strong>: Recommended format
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">MOV</strong>: QuickTime format
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">WebM</strong>: Web-optimized video

  • File Size Limits


  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Photos</strong>: Up to 50MB per image
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Videos</strong>: Up to 500MB per video
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Batch uploads</strong>: No limit on number of files

  • How to Upload


    Drag and Drop

    1. Open your gallery

    2. Drag files from your computer onto the upload zone

    3. Wait for uploads to complete


    Click to Browse

    1. Click the upload area

    2. Select files from your file browser

    3. Click Open to start uploading


    Keyboard Shortcut

    Press Cmd+U (Mac) or Ctrl+U (Windows) to open the file picker.


    Upload Progress


  • Watch the progress bar for each file
  • Uploads continue in the background
  • You can add more files while uploading
  • Close the browser and uploads will pause (resume when you return)

  • Best Practices


  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Batch similar files</strong>: Upload photos from the same shoot together
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Check file names</strong>: Rename files before uploading for better organization
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Upload originals</strong>: We optimize automatically, no need to resize first
  • <strong class="font-semibold text-foreground">Stable connection</strong>: Use a reliable internet connection for large uploads

  • Troubleshooting


    Upload Failed

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify file size is within limits
  • Try uploading fewer files at once

  • Slow Uploads

  • Close other bandwidth-heavy applications
  • Upload during off-peak hours
  • Consider a wired connection instead of WiFi
