Create Your First Gallery
Welcome to PixelPort! This guide will walk you through creating your first client gallery in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Navigate to Galleries
From your dashboard, click on Galleries in the sidebar navigation. Then click the New Gallery button in the top right corner.
Step 2: Set Up Gallery Details
Fill in the basic information about your gallery:
Gallery Name
Choose a descriptive name your clients will recognize. Examples:
- "Sarah & Mike's Wedding"
- "Johnson Family Portrait Session"
- "Lakeside Property Tour"
Event Date (Optional)
Select the date of the photoshoot or event. This helps organize your galleries chronologically.
Description (Optional)
Add a personal message or context for your clients. This appears at the top of the gallery.
Step 3: Choose Gallery Settings
Visibility
Select who can access this gallery:
- Public: Anyone with the link can view
- Password Protected: Requires a password to access
- Email Required: Clients must enter their email to view
Downloads
Toggle whether clients can download high-resolution images:
- Enabled: Clients can download full-resolution photos
- Disabled: View-only mode (great for proofing)
Layout Style
Choose how your gallery displays:
- Masonry: Pinterest-style flowing grid (recommended for mixed media)
- Grid: Uniform square tiles
- Carousel: One image at a time with navigation
Step 4: Customize Your Branding
Make the gallery match your brand:
Colors
- Primary Color: For buttons and accents
- Background Color: Overall page background
- Text Color: For headers and descriptions
Logo
Upload your logo to display at the top of the gallery (recommended size: 200x60px)
Step 5: Upload Your Photos
Quick Upload
Drag and drop photos directly onto the upload zone, or click to browse your files.
Tips for uploading:
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, HEIC
- Maximum file size: 50MB per image
- Batch upload: Select multiple files at once
- Videos supported: MP4, MOV (up to 500MB)
Upload Progress
Watch the progress bar as your photos upload. You can:
- Continue working while uploads process
- Close the window (uploads continue in background)
- Add more photos while others upload
Photo Processing
After upload, photos are automatically:
- Optimized for web viewing
- Generated in multiple sizes
- Organized by upload order
Step 6: Organize Your Gallery (Optional)
Reorder Photos
Click and drag photos to rearrange them in your preferred order.
Create Folders
Organize large galleries into folders:
1. Click Add Folder
2. Name your folder (e.g., "Ceremony", "Reception", "Portraits")
3. Drag photos into folders
Set Cover Image
Choose which photo represents this gallery:
1. Click the ••• menu on any photo
2. Select Set as Cover Image
Feature Photos
Highlight your best shots:
1. Click the ••• menu on a photo
2. Select Feature This Photo
3. Featured photos appear first in the gallery
Step 7: Share with Your Client
Once you're happy with your gallery:
Copy the Gallery Link
Click the Share button to copy the unique gallery link.
Send to Your Client
Share the link via:
- Email: Paste into your email client
- Text Message: Send directly to their phone
- Social Media: Share on private channels
Password Protection
If you set a password, make sure to share it with your client separately for security.
Step 8: Monitor Gallery Activity
View gallery analytics to see:
- How many times it's been viewed
- Which photos clients favorited
- Download activity
- Time spent viewing

No. Clients access galleries directly through the link you share - no account required.
How long are galleries stored?
Galleries remain active as long as your subscription is active. You can set custom expiration dates if needed.
