Pixieset vs Pic-Time: the differences that decide it.

Both are established client gallery platforms with free plans, custom domains on higher tiers, and print sales through partner labs. They differ on commission, video, and how much selling automation you get.

This page lays the two out side by side, with PixelPort in a third column so you can see where a newer platform sits. Prices were checked in September 2026.

Who each one is for.

Pixieset

Photographers who want clean delivery galleries first and a store second. Paid plans have no commission, the interface is simple, and the Ultimate tier adds email campaigns. Best for delivery-heavy studios that sell a little.

Pic-Time

Photographers who want the platform to do the selling. Automated campaigns, coupons, gift cards, and 30+ labs come on every plan, including free. You pay for that with a commission on your markup unless you collect payment yourself.

PixelPort

Photographers and videographers who deliver photo and 4K video in one gallery and want 0% platform commission on every plan. Fewer marketing automations than Pic-Time. Storage is included per plan rather than metered.

Which to pick.

Pick Pixieset if most of your income comes from the shoot fee and the gallery is mainly for delivery. Paid plans have no commission, the 100 GB tier is a few dollars cheaper than Pic-Time, and the Ultimate plan gives unlimited storage for $40 a month billed annually.

Pick Pic-Time if print and album sales are a real part of your revenue and you want the platform to run follow-up campaigns for you. You will pay a commission on your markup, so check the current rate for your plan against what the automation earns. Pic-Time is also the better of the two for video today.

PixelPort sits between them. It charges 0% platform commission on every plan including free, streams 4K video next to the photos, and prices storage by plan rather than by gigabyte. It does not have Pic-Time's campaign automation. If you sell through galleries and want to keep the margin, it is worth a look. Plans start at $15 a month billed annually.
